Changes around the genital area can have different causes, and symptoms alone cannot tell you whether an infection is present. If you have unusual discharge, blisters, a lump or discomfort, a clinical assessment can help decide which tests are appropriate and whether treatment is needed.
MyGP’s STD Screening package is RM450 and combines selected blood tests with PCR testing for Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis and Mycoplasma genitalium. Genital swab testing is available for men and women, and you can request a male or female doctor when arranging your appointment.
The blood tests include syphilis and HIV screening, plus chlamydia and herpes IgG antibodies. These antibody tests have different uses from PCR tests and may reflect past exposure. The clinic will confirm the sample type, testing sites, preparation and result-review arrangements. The package does not check every cause of genital symptoms, so your doctor may recommend additional assessment.

Chlamydia IgG does not reliably diagnose current genital infection; the separate chlamydia PCR listed below serves a different purpose. Herpes IgG cannot date an infection, and HSV-1 IgG cannot identify an oral or genital site. False-positive herpes results can occur.

What is included in the RM450 package?
The listed syphilis and HIV blood screening, chlamydia and herpes IgG tests, four-organism PCR testing and genital swab arrangements are included. The clinic confirms the sample method and any consultation, additional-testing or treatment charges.
Are the chlamydia IgG and PCR tests the same?
No. IgG measures antibodies and does not reliably establish a current genital infection. PCR checks for the organism’s genetic material in the sample. Both are listed here, and the doctor interprets them in context.
Which infections are in the PCR panel?
The four organisms are Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis and Mycoplasma genitalium. The doctor confirms whether these tests and the sample site are appropriate. Mycoplasma genitalium testing is not recommended as routine screening for everyone without symptoms.
Will the tests explain every blister, lump or discharge?
No. Symptoms need a clinical assessment. Herpes IgG does not diagnose the cause of a current blister, and the four listed PCR tests do not include HSV PCR. A separate sore swab or other assessment may be advised.
Do I need a urine sample, a swab or both?
The clinic will confirm the required specimens and collection method for your assessment. Do not assume both specimen types or multiple body sites are included, and do not collect a sample before receiving instructions.
Can I request a male or female doctor?
Yes. Select your preference in the enquiry. Male and female doctors are available within the service; the clinic will confirm the doctor and appointment based on its schedule.
Do I need to fast or avoid urinating beforehand?
Ask the clinic for instructions for the planned blood tests and urine or swab collection. Do not use preparation instructions from another package; the exact sample and laboratory method matter.
How soon after exposure should I attend?
If you have symptoms, arrange a clinical assessment rather than waiting for a testing window to pass. The doctor can plan initial and repeat tests. Possible HIV exposure within 72 hours needs urgent PEP assessment; do not wait for routine screening or a WhatsApp reply.
When will I receive my results?
Blood and PCR tests may have different processing times. The clinic will advise expected report dates, result-review arrangements and whether confirmation, further testing or treatment is needed.

01梅毒及 HIV 血液筛查结合临床情况解读。
梅毒
- 梅毒螺旋体抗体（TPA）

衣原体 IgG 不能可靠诊断当前生殖道感染，下方的衣原体 PCR 用途不同。疱疹 IgG 不能说明感染时间，HSV-1 IgG 也无法区分口腔或生殖器感染，结果可能假阳性。

衣原体 IgG 和 PCR 一样吗？
不一样。IgG 测量抗体，不能可靠确认当前生殖道感染。PCR 检测样本内病原体的遗传物质。本配套列明两者，由医生结合情况解读。
PCR 包含哪四种感染？
包括沙眼衣原体、淋病奈瑟氏菌、阴道毛滴虫及生殖支原体。医生会确认检测与采样部位是否适合。不建议所有无症状人士常规筛查生殖支原体。
能解释每一种水疱、肿块或分泌物吗？
不能。症状需要临床评估。疱疹 IgG 不能诊断当前水疱的原因，列明四项 PCR 也不包含 HSV PCR。医生可能建议独立病灶拭子或其他评估。
需要尿液、拭子，还是两者？
诊所会按评估确认所需样本及方法。不要假设同时包含两种样本或多个部位，也不要在收到指示前自行采样。
可以选择男医生或女医生吗？
可以在咨询时提出偏好。服务有男医生及女医生，诊所会根据排班确认医生与预约。
需要空腹或暂时不排尿吗？
